MG ZS EV Facelift Spied Without Camouflage | V3Cars

A video showing a production-ready MG ZS EV facelift without any camouflage has surfaced on the internet. No camouflage hints at an imminent launch. This 2022 update will come with a few design changes, a new interior layout and some new features. We are also expecting a bigger battery pack for a better range.

MG ZS EV Facelift

The design gets inspiration from Astor, which is the petrol version of the ZS EV. Changes on the exterior include:

  • Closed front grille
  • Slightly changed position for charging port on the front grille
  • Whitened MG logo (the production version will likely get the standard, chrome logo)
  • New LED headlamps, taillamps and DRLs (similar to Astor)
  • New front bumper with sensors for autonomous driving
  • New rear bumper
  • New dual-tone alloy wheels

Apart from the interior layout, media and AC control switches, the new ZS EV also borrows some features from the Astor. Some noticeable feature additions include:

  • A bigger, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired phone connectivity (similar to Astor)
  •  360-degree camera setup
  • Autonomous driving level-2
  1. Auto emergency braking
  2. Adaptive cruise control
  3. Lane keep assist
  4. Front collision warning
  5. Rear cross-traffic alert
  6. Blind-spot monitoring
  7. Speed assist

Unfortunately, the ZS EV facelift is unlikely to come equipped with an auto-dimming IRVM. It’s a feature that’s sorely missed on Astor as well. Apart from these, the ZS EV will carry forward features like a panoramic sunroof, full-colour LCD instrument cluster, connected car technology, auto AC, and driving modes.

ZS EV Interior

The current ZS EV uses a 44.5kWh battery that produces 142PS and 350Nm of torque. The claimed range of the ZS EV is 419km. There are rumours that MG will offer the ZS EV with a bigger, 51.1kWh battery that could give it a claimed range of over 500km. It will help the ZS EV overcome the claimed range of Hyundai Kona EV, one of the key rivals of ZS EV. The Kona has a claimed range of 452km. The Hyundai Kona EV will also get a facelift this year.

The current ZS EV is priced between Rs. 21.1 lakh to Rs. 24.1 lakh (ex-showroom). The bigger battery could increase the price up to Rs. 28 lakh (ex-showroom).
