In this September 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all C-segment sedans in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all C-segment sedans for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.
C-Segment Sedans September 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change
- The City was the only gainer in September YoY, with a 6.21% increase in sales compared to September 2021
- The Volkswagen Rapid was discontinued
- Maruti Suzuki Ciaz was the biggest loser in September YoY sales comparison, with a 29.36% decline in sales
- The Slavia and Virtus are still recent enough to not warrant a YoY comparison
C-Segment Sedan September 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change
- In terms of MoM comparison, the Virtus was the top gainer with 127% MoM gain in the month of September 2022, and was the only car that saw any growth in the category
- Among high-volume C-segment sedans, the Slavia posted the worst loss figure of 52%
- The dispatch numbers of the Honda City and Hyundai Verna declined by 2% and 5%, respectively.
- The second biggest loser in MoM comparison was the Maruti Ciaz with a 10% decline in numbers
