2022 Tata Altroz Petrol-Automatic Expected Prices

From the aforementioned tables, we figured out that the cheapest automatic upgrade over the manual is with the Baleno. The Baleno AMT is Rs. 50,000 more expensive than the manual counterparts. The most expensive upgrade to automatic over the manual is in the case of the Polo, at Rs. 1.12 lakh. It is worth noting that Hyundai do not offer a conventional manual transmission with the turbo petrol of the i20. The upgrade of the dual-clutch transmission (DCT) is over the auto-clutch manual transmission (ACMT) of the i20, at up to Rs. 97,000.

If we put everything in perspective, Tata Motors could charge a premium of Rs. 1 Lakh for the DCT variants over the petrol-manual models. Here is the table of the expected prices of the automatic variants over the manual variants.

As the Altroz DCT will come with the 1.2L normal petrol engine, it will find its place somewhere in the middle of the affordable Baleno AMT and the i20 DCT. If you have observed by now, the premium hatchback segment leader, the Baleno, tops at Rs. 9.49 lakh ex-showroom. Maruti Suzuki have opted for an AMT and compensated the added premium with the new features like 360-degree parking camera, head-up display and 6 airbags. The Altroz, on the other hand, will get a sophisticated dual-clutch transmission along with the bragging rights of 5-star Global-NCAP rating. However, the Altroz will miss out on features like 360-degree parking camera, 6 airbags and also an electric sunroof.

In conclusion, Tata Motors may price the Altroz in line with the Baleno while charging a premium of Rs. 1.0 lakh for the dual-clutch automatic transmission over the manual variants. The premium may also not cross the 9.50 lakh ex-showroom price that the Baleno holds. Tata Motors will soon announce the pricing of the Altroz automatic whereas the bookings are already open.
