Tata Motors have launched the updated Tigor EV with new features and better ARAI-claimed range. The new Tigor EV comes with an ARAI-certified range of 315km on a single charge, which is 9km better. The Tigor EV continues to come with a 26kWh battery pack and a 75PS electric motor.

With the updated Tigor EV, Tata Motors have added a new XZ Plus Lux variant with new features. Tata Motors also increased the prices of the Tigor EV by Rs. 50,000.

The updated Tata Tigor EV doesn’t get any major design changes. It continues to offer an enclosed body-coloured grille up front along with the EV badge. The lower bumper gets a mesh design for air flow to the batteries. Additionally, it offers style wheel covers, blue inserts on the front and rear profiles, LED tail lights and a shark fin antenna. Tata Motors have added a new red colour for the Tigor EV alongside the existing blue and grey colour options.

On the inside, the new Tigor EV offers updated upholstery and a couple of new features. Like the Tiago EV, the Tigor EV also offers leather seat upholstery. The updated Tigor EV offers new features like multi-level brake regenerative braking, cruise control, automatic headlights, automatic rain-sensing wipers, tyre puncture repairing kit and tyre pressure monitoring system. Furthermore, it continues to offer features like keyless entry with push-button start/stop, auto AC, electrically-foldable outside mirrors and a rear centre armrest.

It is interesting to note that Tata Motors will offer features like multi-level regenerative braking, cruise control and TPMS via a software update to the existing Tigor EV customers. 2022 Tigor EV owners will can visit the service centre to get these features with a software update.

The new Tigor EV offers the same 26kWh battery pack as the current model. However, it now offers a 9km better claimed range. It now offers a claimed range of 315km on a single charge whereas the outgoing model offered 306km. It is interesting to note that even though the Tigor EV gets a 26kWh battery pack, its certified range is exactly the same as that of the Tiago EV, which comes with a smaller 24kWh battery pack. However, the Tiago EV offers lower power and torque output compared to the Tigor EV.
