Volkswagen Polo 1.0 Turbo Petrol engine offers the best torque in this segment, so it is expected to offer better driveability compared to all other cars. No other car in the B2 hatchback segment has a turbo petrol engine or a 6-speed manual transmission. But, at the same time, the non-turbo petrol engine of the Polo is the least powerful engine in this class by a massive margin. Its 76PS power output is 10PS less than the Altroz’. Its 95Nm torque output is 18Nm less than the Altroz.

The Altroz is currently not available with an automatic transmission.

If you're looking for a car with low running cost, then Maruti Suzuki Baleno Hybrid will be better since it is the most fuel-efficient car in this segment.

Amongst all the B2 segment hatchbacks, Ford Freestyle has the highest ground clearance of 190mm, so it should be the last car to bottom-out on uneven roads. Honda Jazz has the biggest boot in the segment, so it can carry maximum luggage. But as far as cabin space is concerned, there’s no clear winner since dimensions of most of the cars are similar.
