Ahead of its global debut and launch, Hyundai have revealed the key safety features of the upcoming Exter small SUV. According to Hyundai, the new Exter will be India’s first sub-4m SUV to offer 6 airbags as standard. Take a look at the Hyundai Exter safety features.

Hyundai have revealed that the new Exter will offer 6 airbags — front, side thorax and side curtain — as a standard fitment across all variants. Currently, no sub-4m SUV in the country offers 6 airbags as standard.

Furthermore, the Exter will also offer E and S options for the entry level variants — offering additional safety features such as electronic stability program (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM) and hill start assist (HSA).

Hyundai will offer the Exter with 2 engines – 1.2L normal petrol and 1.2L petrol CNG. The normal petrol variants of the Exter get 2 transmission options – a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). Hyundai have already opened bookings for the Exter ahead of its launch, which is likely to take place in August. We expect Hyundai to hold the global debut of the Exter small SUV in June and series production could kickstart in July 2023. The Exter is likely to be priced around Rs. 6.5 lakh and rival the Tata Punch, Citroen C3 and the non-turbo variants of the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
