The 2024 Nissan Kicks was recently spotted on test wearing heavy camouflage. A few details hint at a complete design overhaul and slightly larger dimensions. Will Nissan India bring the new-gen Kicks to India? Find out here.

The Nissan Kicks is a popular nameplate from the Japanese carmaker in multiple international markets and it is all-set to receive a generation change. Nissan did launch a facelift of the first-gen Kicks but that never made its way to the Indian market. SInce the new-gen Kicks is likely to be underpinned by the same platform as the India-bound Renault Duster, Nissan India could potentially reintroduce the SUV in our market.

The new-gen Kicks that was spotted testing features a sleek design while retaining the silhouette of its predecessor. However, it seems to have a smaller greenhouse around the side and the position of the ORVMs are now on the doors rather than A-pillars. The images also reveal its elongated rear design with split led tail lights and a tapering roofline with integrated roof spoiler.

We are yet to catch a glimpse of its interior but since it is a new-gen model, we expect it to carry the latest bells and whistles. Features like a digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment system could top the equipment list along with a redesigned dashboard. We expect Nissan to reveal its powertrain details and features closer to its global debut, which could take place in the first half of 2024.

Nissan India revealed their plans to launch 2 new SUVs and 1 small electric vehicle, starting 2026. Since both the SUVs are said to fall in the C-segment, the new-gen Kicks is a sensible product, given its predecessor was sold in the country for a brief period. Like the new-gen Duster, the new Kicks could also sit on the heavily-localised CMF-B platform. Apart from the new-gen Duster and Kicks, both Renault and Nissan will launch 2 more SUVs based on the same platform.
