Tata Curvv Showcased At Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 | V3Cars

2024 Tata Curvv

Tata Curvv Design And Features

When launched later this year, the Curvv will mark Tata Motors’ debut in the competitive C-SUV segment, which is currently ruled by the Hyundai Creta. Unlike other C-segment SUVs, the Tata Curvv boasts a unique coupe-like roofline. What’s interesting to note is that Tata Motors have retained most of the design highlights of the Curvv concept showcased at Auto Expo 2023.

Up front, the Curvv borrowed several styling features from the Nexon and Harrier facelift. The connected light bar may look like it was pinched from the Nexon facelift. However, the Curvv’s LED DRLs are wider and longer. The grille uses both piano black and body-coloured elements, which is a slight departure from what we’ve seen in the Nexon, Harrier and Safari. The Curvv also gets a larger front air intake and a faux skid plate.

Around the side, the Curvv gets flush-fitted door handles, which is a first for a Tata. The ORVMs are mounted on the doors rather than on the A-pillars, while the wheel arches and the lower portion of the doors feature black cladding. The Tata Curvv, which is currently on display at the Bharat Mobility Expo, features 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

At the rear, the Tata Curvv features a sloping rear window, connected LED tail lamps, a roof spoiler and a shark fin antenna. The tailgate gets ‘Curvv’ lettering while the bumper features vertical reflectors and the reverse lamp.

Tata Motors say the Curvv is 4,308mm long, 1810mm wide and 1,630mm high. For reference, the Hyundai Creta is 22mm longer, 20mm wider and 5mm taller than the Curvv. The wheelbase of the Tata Curvv is 2,560mm and Tata Motors say it features a boot space of 422 litres.

2024 Tata Curvv Powertrain Options

Like the Nexon, the Tata Curvv will get multiple powertrain options, including petrol, diesel and electric. At the Auto Expo 2023, Tata Motors stated that the Curvv EV would go on sale before the ICE versions. The Tata Curvv EV will not only compete with the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX and its Toyota counterpart but also take on the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.

As for the Curvv ICE, Tata Motors plan to offer it with the same engine options as the Nexon. So expect the Curvv to feature the 1.5-litre diesel, 1.2-litre turbo petrol, and 1.2-litre petrol-CNG engine options. We expect the Tata Curvv ICE to be offered with multiple transmission options, including a 6-speed manual, automated manual transmission (AMT), and a dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

Tata Curvv Expected Price And Launch

As mentioned before, Tata Motors intend to launch the Curvv EV ahead of the Curvv ICE. Series production of the Curvv EV is expected to start in April 2024 at Tata Motors’ Ranjangaon manufacturing facility near Pune. Hence, we could expect it to launch by the end of April or early May. The Curvv ICE could go on sale by June 2024 or just ahead of the festive season to capilatise on the buying spree around that time of year.
