In this August 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all C-segment sedans in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all C-segment sedans for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

C-Segment Sedans August 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

The City was the only gainer in August YoY, with a 6.21% increase in sales compared to August 2021
The Volkswagen Rapid was discontinued
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz was the biggest loser in August YoY sales comparison, with a 29.36% decline in sales
The Slavia and Virtus are still recent enough to not warrant a YoY comparison

C-Segment Sedan August 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

In terms of MoM comparison, the City was the top gainer with 10.77%
The City was followed by Ciaz with a 10% rise in dispatches
Among high-volume C-segment sedans, the Virtus posted the worst loss figure of 34.75%
