Kia India have opened bookings for the factory-fitted CNG versions of the Carens and Carens Clavis. The 2 MPVs can now be booked at Kia dealerships across the country. However, the company have not announced their prices yet.

Both models use Kia’s 1.5L normal petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. They get a factory-fitted 60L CNG tank, along with mechanical and equipment changes designed specifically for the CNG powertrain.
Kia are offering separate variants for private buyers and commercial or fleet operators across both MPVs.
The commercial-focused M-Drive and HTM variants are aimed at fleet and taxi operators, while the private-buyer versions offer additional comfort and convenience equipment.
The CNG versions will give buyers an additional alternative to the existing petrol and diesel powertrains, while the factory-fitted system should provide a more integrated ownership experience than a conventional aftermarket conversion.
Kia have not announced the prices of the CNG variants yet. The company are expected to reveal the ex-showroom prices at a later date.
The Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG use Kia’s 1.5L normal petrol engine. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission in both MPVs.
Unlike the existing Carens CNG, which is available with a government-approved dealer-fitted Lovato CNG kit, the new versions get a factory-fitted CNG system. This allows Kia to make changes to the vehicle specifically for CNG operation rather than treating the system as a post-production conversion.
Kia have recalibrated the engine and retuned the suspension for the CNG variants. The company have not disclosed the full petrol and CNG power and torque figures yet.

Both MPVs get a factory-fitted 60L CNG tank. The factory integration also brings changes to other parts of the vehicle. Both models get 16-inch wheels and larger disc brakes as part of the CNG package.
Kia have also equipped the CNG versions with a dedicated CNG fuel-change switch, allowing the driver to switch between petrol and CNG while driving.
A 4.2-inch colour TFT instrument cluster displays CNG-specific information, including the estimated distance to empty.
The additional weight and altered weight distribution associated with the CNG system have led Kia to retune the suspension of both MPVs. This should help maintain the ride and handling characteristics of the vehicles despite the added CNG hardware. The 3rd-row seatback frame is also redesigned. Kia say the change improves the recline angle and rear-seat comfort.
