Mahindra & Mahindra has finally announced the prices of the much awaited "P4" variant of the TUV300. The newly launched SUV has been launched in India priced at Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). However, the 2018 Mahindra TUV300 has already been on sale unofficially in several states across the country for quite some time now. The lengthened version of the existing TUV300 is available in four color options in the country - Bold Black, Majestic Silver, Dynamic Red, and Glacier White.
The 2018 Mahindra TUV300 Plus 'P4' measures 4400 mm in length, which is about 401 mm longer than its standard model. The TUV300 Plus is 1,835mm in width and the wheelbase remains the same at 2680 mm, the extra length has successfully made space for the TUV300 to become a nine-seater with jump seats at the rear. Also, the new vehicle now gets the 16-inch steel wheels against the 15-inch which can be seen on the standard TUV300.
Under the hood, the newly launched Mahindra TUV300 is available in only a single P4 variant and will come powered by a bigger 2.2-litre diesel churning out 120 bhp which Mahindra calls the Mahindra mHawk120 and 280 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a six-speed manual, instead of a five-speed gearbox found in the standard TUV300. However, there will be no automatic gearbox on offer. Weighing 2,410kgs, the SUV also gets a 60-litre fuel tank, comes loaded with 215/70 R16 tyres with steel rims and gets Mahindra's Micro-Hybrid tech for fuel savings.
At the exterior, the longer version of TUV300 gets a redesigned bumper and the rear gets wraparound tail lamps that distinguish it from the standard TUV300. Though, the TUV300 Plus retains the same boxy design as the standard model, there is not much to differentiate between the two but there is a possibility that Mahindra will give an option of front-facing seats on the third row on the TUV300 SUV as a major change.
At the inside, the nine-seater TUV300 comes loaded with features such as vinyl-seat upholstery, all-black interiors, a nine-seater configuration with fold-up side-facing third-row seats, power steering with tilt-function, power windows on the front and rear, central locking, AC with heater function, internally-adjustable ORVMs, and two 12V charging sockets. In terms of safety, the SUV offers an engine immobilizer, child locks, and side-intrusion beams shedding the ABS, driver side airbag and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
The TUV300 Plus has been priced at Rs 9.46 lakh (ex-showroom) in Tamil Nadu, Rs 9.72 lakh (ex-showroom) in Jharkhand, and Rs 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom) in Gandhinagar area and takes against the likes of the Toyota Innova Crysta, Renault Lodgy and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in the market. Though, the automaker has revealed the official pricing details of the 2018 TUV300, the official launch of the SUV will take place soon in the country and we’ll have to wait till Mahindra makes an official announcement towards the same.
