MG Motor India have opened bookings for their newest electric vehicle — the Comet EV. The prices of the urban electric vehicle start from Rs. 7.98 lakh and goes up to Rs. 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Read on to know the industry-first track and trace feature of the Comet EV.
MG Comet EV Bookings Open
Comet EV bookings are currently open for a token amount of Rs. 11,000. Interested customers can book the Comet EV either via the brand’s website or via their nearest MG dealership. The deliveries of the Comet EV will begin in May in a phased manner.

MG Track And Trace Feature
For prospective customers of the Comet EV, MG Motor India have announced a new track and trace feature. With this, the customers who have booked the Comet EV will get timely updates about the status of their order. From hitting the production line to leaving the factory to the dealership, customers will get to see all the updates on the MG mobile app. Currently, MG claim that they are the first mass-market carmaker to introduce this feature in the industry.

MG Comet EV Powertrain Details
The Comet EV comes with a 17.3kWh battery pack that powers a rear-mounted electric motor. The electric motor produces 42PS of power and 110Nm of torque. The Comet EV offers a claimed range of 230km on a single charge. In terms of charging, the Comet EV can juice up its batteries from 0-100% in 7 hours via a 3.3kW AC charger. The Comet EV does not support fast charging.

MG offer the Comet EV in a total of 3 variants – Pace, Play and Plush. The prices start from Rs. 7.98 lakh and go up to Rs. 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). It is worth mentioning that these are introductory prices for the first 5,000 customers.
