    Next- Gen Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Bags 11,000 Bookings

    The 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross has been creating a buzz in the market since the day it was introduced. The automaker launched the much anticipated compact SUV in October this year and the vehicle has successfully received 11,000 bookings already. According to Maruti Suzuki the wholesales of for the crossover have crossed the 5000 mark. The 2017 S-Cross comes with over 95 per cent localization as a result of the investment of over Rs 100 crore towards development of the new vehicle by the manufacturer along with its suppliers.

    The S-Cross facelift has been launched to become a best seller by Maruti in the country as its other offering. Although, the compact SUV missed its deserved attention at the time of launch as it was supposed to be the first vehicle to kick start things for Maruti Suzuki as regards the Nexa dealerships but the attention got transferred to the re-launched Baleno sales in the country, but now it seems to have regained that attention with its increasing sales numbers.

     

    Mechanically, the 2017 S-Cross offers the 1.3-litre engine, badged as the DDiS 200, and produces 89 bhp and 200 Nm as earlier mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Other than the DDis 200 badge, it now comes with the company's Smart Hybrid from Suzuki (SHVS) technology, which includes idle-stop start, torque assist, brake energy regeneration system and a gearshift indicator.

     

    Maruti Suzuki launched the updated S-Cross with a revamped body and additional features. While at the exterior it gets an all-new face dominated by a new chrome grille and a pair of redesigned headlamps, Projector lights with LED DRLs, new beefier front bumper with a wider airdam, and restyled foglamps along with a sportier set of alloy wheels and redesigned ORVMs with integrated turn signal lights. Apart from these, the top end variant offers LED taillamps as well as a revised rear bumper.

     

    Maruti Suzuki launched the updated S-Cross with a revamped body and additional features. While at the exterior it gets an all-new face dominated by a new chrome grille and a pair of redesigned headlamps, Projector lights with LED DRLs, new beefier front bumper with a wider airdam, and restyled foglamps along with a sportier set of alloy wheels and redesigned ORVMs with integrated turn signal lights. Apart from these, the top end variant offers LED taillamps as well as a revised rear bumper.

     

    At the inside, the compact SUV offers a redesigned dashboard, new upholstery and a new touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple VehiclePlay and Android Auto with MirrorLink while the safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard across all the variants. Other than these, keyless entry with push start and stop button, rear parking sensor and rear camera are the additional features.

    The updated Maruti Suzuki S-Cross has been launched in India at a price of Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base variant, while the bookings for this vehicle had begun in end September this year at a token amount of Rs 11,000.
