Land Rover has launched the performance-focused Range Rover Sport SVR in India. It is priced at Rs 2.19 crore (ex-showroom India), Rs 35 lakh more than the previous top-spec Autobiography Dynamic variant which is priced at Rs 1.84 crore(ex-showroom India).

Range Rover Sport SVR

Developed and hand-finished by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations in Coventry, UK, the Range Rover Sport SVR is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine that makes 575PS and 700Nm paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The performance SUV can go from 0-100kmph in 4.5 seconds.

Along with the new engine, the SVO group has also made changes to the SUVs underpinnings for more dynamic handling without compromising on comfort and off-road capability. It also gets performance brake pads and discs and a retuned damper setup for better body control.

In terms of design, while the SVR looks similar to the standard model, it gets a reprofiled front bumper with vents for better brake cooling. It also gets body-coloured detailing at the rear and an SVR badge to identify it as the SVR.

On the inside, it gets exclusive elements like SVR Performance seats with seat backs finished in satin black with an embossed SVR logo on the headrests. Features on offer include Pixel LED headlamps, heated front and rear seats, touch pro duo infotainment system ( consists of two 10-inch touchscreens for infotainment and various other car controls), 825W 19-speaker Meridian Surround Sound System, auto-dimming IRVM, ambient lighting, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, park assist, steering assist, and dynamic stability control.

The Range Rover Sport SVR takes on the likes of the BMW X5 M Competition, Audi RS Q8 and Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
