Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid Gains Pedestrian Alert System (AVAS) | V3Cars

Toyota have introduced a safety update to the Innova Hycross hybrid MPV, incorporating a pedestrian alert system called Acoustic Vehicle Alert System, or AVAS. This feature is designed to enhance pedestrian safety and is now offered as standard across all hybrid variants of the 2025 Innova Hycross.

Toyota Innova Hycross Gets AVAS Pedestrian Alert System

What Is AVAS And Why Is It Important?

AVAS, or Acoustic Vehicle Alert System, is a technology that emits a low-frequency sound at low speeds, alerting pedestrians and other road users to the presence of the vehicle. This is particularly important for hybrid and electric vehicles, which operate silently in electric mode, potentially posing a safety risk to unsuspecting pedestrians.

Innova Hycross Hybrid Variants with AVAS

The AVAS feature is exclusively available on the strong-hybrid variants of the Toyota Innova Hycross, namely the VX, VX(O), ZX, and ZX(O) models. This aligns with the MPV’s hybrid powertrain, which allows for near-silent electric operation at lower speeds.

The MPV continues to offer a comprehensive suite of features, including:

  • 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • 7-inch digital driver’s display
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Wireless phone charger
  • 6 airbags
  • Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
  • 360-degree camera
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
