Rumour: Toyota To Reveal Innova Hycross In November | V3Cars

As per a latest media report, Toyota India will unveil the new Innova Hycross hybrid family MPV in November 2022. It is likely to go on sale alongside the Innova Crysta and offer great fuel efficiency. As per multiple media reports, Toyota have stopped accepting orders for the diesel variants of the Innova Crysta.

The Toyota Innova Crysta is one of the best-selling offerings from the Japanese carmaker in the country. Launched in 2016, Toyota are likely to offer the new generation of the MPV later this year. The Innova Hycross is likely to be unveiled in November 2022, while the launch could take place in early 2023.

While the current-gen Innova Crysta is based on a ladder-on-frame platform, source say the new Innova Hycross will use a new monocoque construction. The new monocoque chassis is likely to reduce the weight while utilising a front-wheel-drive setup. Sources suggest that the Innova Hycross will use the TNGA-C platform that underpins the new-gen Toyota Corolla. Hence, with the Innova Hycross, we can expect Toyota to offer multiple seating configurations with better space management.

In terms of powertrain, the new Innova Hycross will use a petrol-hybrid powertrain. We do not expect the Innova Hycross to offer any diesel engines. While the details about the hybrid powertrain of the Innova Hycross are scarce, it will offer more power and torque than the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. As per sources, the Innova Hycross will use a 2.0L petrol hybrid powertrain.

As we stated earlier, Toyota will offer the Innova Hycross alongside the Innova Crysta. However, with bookings for the Innova diesel now closed, it remains to be seen if Toyota offer diesel engines in their future offerings. In all likelihood, Toyota will offer the Innova Crysta with a CNG powertrain based on the 2.0L petrol engine instead of the current 2.4L diesel engine for the cab segment.
