Suzuki have announced their product plans for India, Europe and Japan. In India, Maruti Suzuki aim to launch 6 battery electric vehicles by 2030. The first EV in India will go on sale in the financial year 2023-24. This EV will be the production version of the eVX concept showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo.

While speaking with the media at the Auto Expo 2023, CV Raman, chief technology officer of Maruti Suzuki India said that they are exploring H-CNG as an alternative fuel to meet their carbon neutrality goals and cut down on the emissions.

Maruti Suzuki sell the most CNG vehicles in the country and are facing issues with the supply. They have a booking backlog of over 1.25 lakh CNG vehicles. Maruti Suzuki recently discontinued the CNG variants in the S-Presso lineup. They’re not likely to launch any new CNG cars before they substantially wrap up the open backlog of orders.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Gurajat government to set up an EV manufacturing plant in the state. Maruti Suzuki India have hiked the prices on all of their CNG cars. Now, the CNG cars from Maruti Suzuki command more premium over the petrol-only equivalents than before. Maruti Suzuki India have increased the prices of the CNG models by Rs. 95,000 across the model range. The carmaker earlier had a flat premium of Rs. 90,000 for all CNG models over their non-CNG counterparts.

Maruti Suzuki India recently increased the prices of the WagonR by up to Rs. 30,000. After this price revision, the WagonR's ex-showroom prices now start at Rs. 5.18 lakh and tops out at Rs. 6.58 lakh.The new January 2022 prices are between 1.94% and 5.15%  higher than before.
