The Commute will not carry the Windsor nameplate and will sell with only the Commute badging. Moreover, visually, MG will distinguish it by giving it fewer cosmetic and functional features. This will help in maintaining separate identities for the Windsor and Commute vehicles.

A week after releasing the first teaser video, JSW MG Motor India have revealed the name for their upcoming EV – the 2024 MG Windsor. Based on the teaser videos and various spy shots from earlier this year, we can confirm the upcoming EV is a rebadged and renamed version of the Wuling Cloud EV sold in various Asian markets. The upcoming MG EV will slot the gap between the Comet EV and ZS EV in MG India’s portfolio.

Last week, our source close to MG with knowledge of the matter confirmed that the carmaker is developing a new electric SUV for the Indian market. MG are likely to price this upcoming electric SUV quite aggressively, so much so that we expect it to cost between Rs. 10.0 lakh to Rs. 15.0 lakh range, similar to the Tata Punch EV.

MG Motor recently notified us about a price hike from January 1, 2024. The reasons for the price hike quoted in the notification are the usual suspects: inflation and rising input costs. We expect it to remain fairly low and in the 1-2% range.

The recycled materials like metal might are likely to help cut down the input costs for manufacturing new Lithium battery cells. With this initiative, MG along with Attero aim to recycle and reuse the Li-ion battery from the MG ZS EV.

MG Motor recently unveiled their first residential community charger. This charger is installed in Gurugram at The WorldSpa condominiums. To enable this, MG has collaborated with Electreefi and the condominium’s RWA (Residential Welfare Association) to offer charger access to all EV owners and drivers, including WorldSpa residents and visitors.

MG has updated its electric SUV, the ZS EV, in January 2020. Now, the carmaker has updated the electric SUV for the year 2021. It gets added range, new tyres, more ground clearance and a price hike. The 2021 ZS EV is priced from Rs 20.99 lakh to Rs 23.58 lakh.
