Mercedes Benz has launched second-gen GLA in India at an introductory price of Rs 39.90 lakh (ex-showroom India). It is a premium compact SUV that will take on the likes of the BMW X1, Volvo XC40, Mini Countryman and the upcoming second-gen Audi Q3. 2021 Second-Gen Mercedes Benz GLA Prices
2021 Mercedes Benz GLA is available in three variants: GLA 200, GLA 200d and GLA 220d 4MATIC AMG Line priced from Rs 42.10 lakh to Rs 46.70 lakh. Mercedes Benz has also launched a more powerful and sportier version of the SUV called the AMG GLA 35 4MATIC which is priced at Rs 57.30 lakh.
What Are The Dimensions Of Second-Gen Mercedes Benz GLA?
The second-gen GLA is 4410mm long, 1834mm wide and 1611mm tall. While the new GLA is amongst the shortest SUVs here, it is amongst the widest and the tallest. It also has the longest wheelbase at 2729mm. The wheelbase is the distance between the centre of the front and rear wheels. A longer wheelbase usually results in better legroom.
What Are The Engine Specs Of 2021 Mercedes Benz GLA?
Mercedes Benz is offering the new GLA with both petrol and diesel engine options. While GLA 200 is powered by a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine making 163PS and 250Nm paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the GLA 200d gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine making 190PS and 400Nm paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. While the 1.3-litre petrol engine is offered in a 2WD configuration only, the 2.0-litre diesel engine is offered in a 4WD configuration as well.
Mercedes is also offering an AMG variant of the second-gen GLA. Christened the GLA 35, it is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 306PS and 400Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox working in tandem with Mercedes’ 4Matic 4WD system.
