With the launch of the 2022 Hector facelift, we can expect MG to introduce the new top-spec Savvy variant. The new Savvy variant could offer new features including ADAS. However, we are yet to get confirmation on the new Savvy variant.

In terms of updates for the 2022 Hector, we expect it to come with a larger grille and tweaked headlamp clusters. We also expect a new design for the alloy wheels along with a reworked rear profile. On the inside, the 2022 MG Hector will get a new dashboard layout with a segment-leading 14-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system. The new infotainment system will offer in-built GPS maps along with online video chat support. MG have confirmed that the new infotainment system will feature wireless functionality for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

In terms of powertrains, the new Hector is likely to come with the same 1.5L turbo petrol and 2.0L turbo diesel engine options as the current model. While the 1.5L turbo petrol may retain its manual, manual hybrid and CVT automatic options, we expect MG to finally offer the Hector with a diesel automatic option. Currently, the MG Hector only gets a 6-speed manual transmission with the 2.0L diesel engine. MG Hector rivals other premium SUVs like the Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass.
