2025 Kia Carens Clavis To Debut Tomorrow – All You Need To Know | V3Cars

Kia India are gearing up to pull the wraps off their latest offering, the 2025 Carens Clavis MPV, tomorrow, May 8th, 2025. The new Carens Clavis will be positioned above the Carens and offer a couple of additional features to justify the premium.

2025 Kia Carens Clavis Debut Tomorrow

So, what exactly can you expect from the Kia Clavis? Let's delve into the details that have emerged leading up to its official debut.

2025 Kia Carens Clavis To Get A Bold New Face And Updated Aesthetics

Early glimpses through official teasers and spy shots point towards a striking departure in the Clavis’s exterior design, particularly at the front. Kia have replaced their signature grille with a sleek, blanked-off fascia, hinting at the upcoming Carens Clavis EV. Flanking the new fascia are new, sharply styled triangular LED headlights complemented by distinctive angular LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), which bears resemblance to Kia’s EV6 electric SUV. The front bumper has also undergone a comprehensive redesign.

Moving along the profile, expect to see newly designed alloy wheels, potentially boasting a larger diameter than the current Carens’ 16-inch rims. Kia are also expected to introduce a selection of new exterior color options to further differentiate the Clavis. The rear of the Carens Clavis receives its own set of updates, most notably a new pair of LED taillights connected by a stylish LED light bar A redesigned rear bumper featuring silver accents completes the refreshed look.

2025 Kia Carens Clavis To Offer An Upgraded Interior With New Features

The 2025 Carens Clavis will offer an updated cabin layout over the Carens. We expect Kia to give the Carens Clavis an updated colour scheme for the upholstery and interior trim. Staying true to its MPV roots and mirroring the Carens, the Clavis is expected to be available in both 6-seater configurations with comfortable captain seats in the middle row and a more spacious 7-seater option featuring a bench seat in the second row.

The cabin will undoubtedly be loaded with new and enhanced features, promising a more tech-forward and comfortable experience for occupants. Confirmed highlights include a fully digital 12.3-inch driver’s display. Other new features include a panoramic sunroof and Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver’s Assistance Systems), offering features like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking.

The infotainment system is also expected to receive a significant upgrade in the form of a new 12.3-inch touchscreen unit seen in other recent Kia models like the Syros. Comfort will be further enhanced by features such as dual-zone automatic climate control and a powered co-driver’s seat with a convenient “boss mode” function.

Opinion – Kia Unlikely To Offer New Kia Carens Clavis With Normal Petrol Engine

In terms of powertrain options, we expect Kia to follow the same logic as the Syros and Sonet. While the Syros and Sonet are both B2-segment SUVs, the former is positioned as a more premium alternative to the latter. Thus, it only offers Kia’s turbocharged engine options and does not get the 1.2L normal petrol engine. Similarly, the Carens is available with a 1.5L normal petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engine options. However, considering its more premium positioning, we expect Kia to offer the Carens Clavis with only the 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines.

The 1.5L turbo petrol engine offers 160PS of power and 253Nm of torque. In the Carens, this engine is available with 2 transmission options – a 6-speed ACMT and 7-speed DCT automatic. The 1.5L diesel engine, which produces 116PS and 250Nm, gets 2 transmission options – 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic, in the Carens.

2025 Kia Carens Clavis Expected Prices And Rivals

While the standard Kia Carens is priced from Rs. 10.90 lakh to Rs. 19.70 lakh, we expect the new Carens Clavis to get a price tag ranging from Rs. 14.5 lakh to Rs. 21.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

This strategic pricing will place the Carens Clavis as a more upscale alternative to the Maruti Ertiga and XL6 and compete directly with 7-seater SUVs such as the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and the Mahindra XUV700 7-seater.
