Hatchbacks Segment April 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Maruti Suzuki may not have a strong grip in the SUV and sedan segment, but they have the hatchbacks under their command
- This is evident as Maruti Suzuki have 6 of the top 7 bestselling hatchbacks
- The WagonR is a money-minting machine for Maruti Suzuki as it maintains its top spot with very little marketing expenditure
- After the recent update, the Baleno is yet to gain ground as its sales are down 33.2% YoY
- Baleno, Alto and Swift are some of the top losers among hatchbacks for Maruti Suzuki in April 2021
- The Celerio is off to a good start after the generation change
- The Honda Jazz is the worst-selling hatchback in April 2022 managing a small figure of just 472 units
- Even Polo, which is known to be on its way out is managing to outsell the Jazz
- We may see the Jazz exit our market if it continues to perform poorly
- The Glanza registered some YoY growth after the generation change as it’s now available in all 4 variants, which improves the affordability of the car
