In this February 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all C-segment SUVs in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all C-segment SUVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

C-Segment SUV February 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change

Among the high-volume cars from the category, the Creta was the top-selling SUV in the segment in February. Over 10,000 units of the Creta were sold in February 2023 compared to 9,606 units in February 2022, which is a growth of 8.5%
Kia Seltos was the top gainer, with a 22% YoY growth
The Jeep Compass was the top losing car in the category, with a YoY decline of 60%
Next in line in the top list of losers was the MG Astor, with a 55% YoY drop
Zero units of the Nissan Kicks and Hyundai Kona were dispatched in February 2023

C-Segment SUV February 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change

The Hyundai Creta was the biggest MoM loser, with a 31% decline in sales over January 2023
The other notable losers were the Kia Seltos, with a 23% decline, Toyota Hyryder, with a 21% decline, and Skoda Kushaq, with a 11% MoM decline
While the Hyryder reported an MoM decline in numbers, its twin from Maruti, the Grand Vitara reported a 6% growth in February
The Volkswagen Taigun was the top gainer in the category, with a 14% MoM growth
