Mercedes-Benz GLC AMG 43, 63 Revealed | V3Cars

Mercedes-Benz have revealed the performance-centric AMG 43 and AMG 63 variants of the GLC SUV. The GLC AMG 43 and 63 now make use of a 2.0L turbo petrol engine along with a couple of electric motors, replacing the petrol V8 of the predecessor. Read on to know more about the GLC AMG.

The AMG versions of the GLC feature a couple of AMG-specific exterior details. These include an AMG radiator grille with chrome vertical bars, larger air ducts, sportier front bumper, side skirts and rear diffuser. The only visual difference betwee the GLC AMG 43 and GLC AMG 63 are their exhaust outlets. While the GLC AMG 43 gets quad round exhaust pipes, the AMG 63 offers trapezoidal exhaust pipes.

Mercedes-Benz GLC AMG Interior Details

On the inside, the GLC AMG models offer a sportier dashboard design with various carbon-fibre inlays. The dashboard, sports seats and steering wheel come finished in Nappa leather in both AMG models. The infotainment system and instrument cluster also run on an AMG theme with an array of customisation options. Furthermore, the GLC 63 AMG also offers TrackPace feature that records your onboard lap times on track counting various factors of the SUV.

Like the earlier model, AMG offer 2 powertrain options named 43 and 63. This time, both models make use of a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine along with a hybrid setup. The GLC AMG 43 offers 421PS of power at 6750rpm and 500Nm of torque at 5000rpm. A belt-driven starter generator further offers 14PS, as and when needed. The GLC 63 AMG also uses a 2.0L turbo petrol engine, albeit with a larger turbocharger and a more powerful hybrid system.

The 2.0L turbo petrol engine in the GLC 63 AMG alone offers 476PS at 6725rpm and 545Nm of torque between 5250rpm and 5500rpm. The engine is coupled with an electric motor mounted at the rear axle, which further offers 204PS. The combined power and torque outputs of the GLC 63 AMG stand at 680PS and 1020Nm. As a result, the GLC 63 AMG can do the 0-100kmph sprint in a claimed 3.5 seconds and touch a top speed of 275kmph.
