2026 Tata Sierra Launched At Rs. 11.49 Lakh — Variant-Wise Powertrain Options Revealed | V3Cars

Tata Motors have launched the 2026 Sierra at an introductory starting price of Rs. 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). While Tata Motors have not revealed the full variant-wise prices, they have revealed the variant-wise powertrain options and their specifications.

  • The Sierra normal petrol is available in all variants except the top Accomplished Plus. Also, only the mid variants of the Sierra normal petrol are available with an automatic transmission.
  • The Sierra turbo petrol is only available with an automatic transmission.
  • The Sierra diesel-manual is available in all 7 variants, while the Sierra diesel-automatic is not available in the base Pure and mid Adventure variant.

Tata are offering the new Sierra with three 1.5L engine options – a normal petrol, a turbo petrol and a diesel. Check out the power, torque and transmission options of each engine option in the table below:

  • Currently, the Tata Sierra is only available with front-wheel-drive. However, Tata have confirmed an 4-wheel-drive version is in the pipeline. Whether it is with an internal combustion engine or dual electric motors remains to be seen. We are expecting to see it in the Sierra EV as a dual-motor version.
  • The new 1.5L turbo petrol engine is only available with an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter (TC) automatic transmission.
  • The new 1.5L normal petrol engine will come with 2 transmission options – a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).
  • The 1.5L diesel engine is shared with the Tata Curvv. You can have it with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter (TC) automatic
  • The Sierra’s diesel-automatic powertrain produces 20Nm more torque than the Curvv diesel-automatic and even the Sierra diesel-manual.

2026 Tata Sierra Booking And Delivery Timeline

Tata Motors have confirmed that bookings for the 2026 Sierra petrol and diesel variants will begin on 16 December 2025. The 2026 Sierra booking amount is yet to be revealed. However, we expect it to be in the range of Rs. 21,000, similar to other Tata SUVs such as the Curvv and Harrier.

Deliveries of the new Sierra petrol and diesel will commence on 15 January, 2026. Although Tata Motors are yet to reveal the variant-wise prices of the new Sierra ICE, take a look at our price expectations by clicking on the link below:
