Here’s Why Toyota Have Paused Innova Crysta Diesel Bookings | V3Cars

A few days ago, rumours suggested that Toyota have stopped accepting bookings for the Innova Crysta MUV. Now, Toyota have released a statement explaining the reasons behind the decision to pause bookings for the Innova Crysta diesel variants.

Reasons Why Toyota Stopped Innova Crysta Diesel Variants

“The Toyota Innova, TKM’s flagship offering in India has come a long way ever since its introduction in 2005,” said Toyota Kirloskar Motor in its statement. “However, due to a very high demand pattern which has resulted in an increased waiting period for the diesel variant of Innova Crysta, TKM has decided to temporarily stop taking orders for the diesel variants,” the company added.

The diesel variants of the Innova Crysta are powered by a 2.4L turbo diesel engine, which is available with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed TC automatic transmission. The Innova Crysta’s turbo diesel engine makes 150PS of power at 3400rpm. Peak torque is rated at 343Nm with the manual transmission and 360Nm with the automatic transmission.

Innova Crysta Petrol Variants Bookings Still Open

Although bookings for the diesel variants of the Innova Crysta are temporarily suspended, Toyota continue to accept bookings for the petrol variants.

“As a customer centric company,  we are making  efforts to supply the vehicles to customers who have already made bookings with our dealers. However, we will continue to take orders for the petrol variant of Innova Crysta,” said Toyota.

The petrol variants of the Innova Crysta are powered by a 2.7L normal petrol engine, which is available with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed TC automatic transmission. The Innova Crysta’s 2.7L normal petrol engine makes 166PS of power at 5200rpm and 245Nm of torque at 4000rpm.

Toyota Innova Hycross Coming In November?

Meanwhile, Toyota are rumored to be working on the next-generation Innova, which is likely to be called Innova Hycross. The new Innova Hycross is likely to be offered with a 2.0L hybrid petrol engine. It will sit on a new global monocoque platform and will ditch the current rear-wheel-drive layout for a front-wheel-drive layout.
