Updated Range Rover Velar Launched At Rs 79.87 Lakh | V3Cars

Land Rover has launched the updated Velar in India. It is available in a single R-Dynamic S variant which is priced at Rs 79.87 lakh and Rs 80.71 lakh for petrol and diesel, respectively.

The petrol Velar is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit that makes 250PS and 365Nm. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is also a 2.0-litre unit making 204PS and 430Nm. Both the engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels of the SUV. it is the same engine-transmission combination that is offered on the recently launched facelifted Jaguar F-Pace. 

While there are no major cosmetic changes on the updated Velar, it gets the R-Dynamic exterior pack. As a result, it gets 

  • Bonnet and tailgate script and lower blade in Shadow Atlas
  • Door cladding lowers and sills, front, side and rear pinstripes, front and rear bumper lowers, lower finisher, tow eye cover and mid finisher in Narvik Black
  • Unique front bumper with air curtain finisher and mesh in Gloss Black and finisher inserts in burnished copper
  • Fender vent blade and bonnet louvre in burnished copper.

On the inside, while the cabin layout remains unchanged, it gets updated tech in the form of Air Suspension, 3D Surround Camera and Cabin Air Ionisation with PM2.5 filter. The updated Velar also gets the latest version of the Pivi Pro infotainment system (consists of two 10-inch touchscreens) that offers active road noise cancellation.

 

Other features have been carried forward as such. It gets auto LED headlamps with auto high beam assist, heated ORVMs with driver-side auto-dimming, rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, four-zone AC, electrically adjustable steering, 14-way driver memory front seats with rear power recline, a 400W 12-speaker Meridian Sound System, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support and cruise control. 

Safety features on offer include front and rear parking sensors, 6 airbags, emergency braking assist, intrusion sensor, wade sensing, tyre pressure monitoring system, trailer stability assist, hill launch assist, traction control, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake and hill descent control. 

Deliveries of the updated Velar are already underway for today. It continues to take on the likes of the Jaguar F-Pace, BMW X5, Mercedes Benz GLE and Volvo XC90.
