Update: Hyundai confirmed the engine options of the 2023 Exter on May 8, 2023. This post includes the updated powertrain details based on the currently available information.

Since the Venue shares the 1.2L normal petrol engine with the Exter 2023, there’s no power, torque or manual transmission difference between the two. The Exter will offer the option of an AMT automatic transmission white the Venue doesn't. The slightly smaller dimensions of the Exter may also help it deliver better fuel efficiency in the real world as well as in the ARAI tests.

Hyundai Exter Vs Hyundai Venue - Turbo Petrol Engine Spec Comparison (Expected)
The Venue gets a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, which makes 120PS of power and 172Nm of torque. This engine is available with a 6-speed auto-clutch manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. Hyundai confirmed the engine options of the Exter and a turbo petrol unit was not among the powertrains confirmed for the 2023 Exter.

Hyundai Exter Vs Venue - CNG Bi-Fuel Engine Spec Comparison (Expected)
Besides the normal petrol-manual and automatic powertrains, Hyundai also confirmed that the Exter will get the CNG bi-fuel option with a manual transmission. While the specs aren’t out yet, we expect its performance figures to align with those of the Nios CNG. So, it could make 69PS of power and 95Nm of torque while claiming to deliver mileage of around 26kmpkg when running on CNG. Meanwhile, the Venue doesn’t get a CNG fuel option.
