India-spec Fourth-gen Skoda Octavia Unveiled Ahead Of Launch Tomorrow | V3Cars

Skoda has unveiled the fourth-gen Octavia ahead of its launch tomorrow. The carmaker revealed its dimensions, features, variants and engine specs. So, let’s take a look

 

Fourth-gen Skoda Octavia

Let’s start with the dimensions. The Octavia is 4689mm long, 1829mm wide and 1469mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2680mm. Skoda says the new Octavia has boot space of 600 litres which can be expanded up to 1,555L by folding the 60:40 split rear seats. Compared to its arch-rival, the Elantra, the Octavia is longer, wider and taller but has a shorter wheelbase by 20mm. While the Elantra rides on 16-inch alloys, the Octavia will be offered with 17-inch alloy wheels as standard.

Under the hood, the Octavia will be offered with a 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine only. It makes 190PS and 320Nm paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox with drive-by-wire technology. 

Skoda will offer the Octavia in two variants: Style and Lauren & Kliment. Features on offer include a digital instrument cluster, dual-zone AC, 12-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, paddle shifters, powered tailgate with virtual pedal, adaptive LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, 12-speaker Canton sound system, ambient lighting, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless mobile charging, cruise control and electronic parking brake with auto-hold. 

Safety features on offer include driver fatigue alert, hands-free parking, parking camera, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, up to 8 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold control, electronic differential lock and multi-collision brake. 

Skoda will offer the new Octavia in three colour options: Lava Blue, Magic Black and Candy White. It will also get two additional colours: Brilliant Silver and Maple Brown, but in the L&K variant only. 

Prices of the Octavia are expected to start around 20 lakh. It will take on its sole rival the Hyundai Elantra as Honda discontinued the Civic earlier this year. For reference, the Elantra is priced from Rs 17.85 lakh to Rs 21.12 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
