However, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk gets redesigned bumpers for better approach, departure and ramp over angles. The Trailhawk offers a 30-degree approach angle, 34-degree departure angle and 24-degree ramp over angle.

In addition to that, the Compass Trailhawk gets a dedicated Rock mode, a 1-inch suspension lift kit, better water fording capacity, and 205mm ground clearance. While the regular Compass gets road-biased 18-inch wheels, the Trailhawk gets all-season 225/65 R17 rubber for better offroad performance.

As we stated earlier, the Trailhawk employs the same powertrain as the Compass. The 2.0L turbo-diesel engine puts out 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. However, in the 4 High mode, the Compass starts from 2nd gear and hence, only gets 8 forward gears. Jeep have used the 1st gear as a low ratio to deliver torque at slow speeds. Unlike other SUVs, the Compass doesn’t require a transfer case, thanks to the integrated low ratio inside the automatic gearbox casing. The Jeep Compass Trailhawk takes on the likes of the Hyundai Tucson AWD and Volkswagen Tiguan facelift.
