Mercedes-Benz India Post Best-Ever Sales Figures In 2023-24 | V3Cars

Mercedes-Benz India are riding a wave of success currently after posting their best-ever fiscal sales, highest quarter monthly sales, and highest single monthly sales ever in India. Here’s how the brand achieved these figures.

According to the brand, 18,123 Mercedes-Benz cars were sold in India in 2023-24. The latest annual sales figure marks a 10 percent jump compared to the previous financial year, where the brand sold 16,497 units.

Apart from achieving their highest fiscal sales ever in India, Mercedes-Benz India delivered 5,412 new cars to customers in India in the January-March 2024 period, marking a Y-o-Y sales growth of 15 percent. Mercedes-Benz also recorded their highest monthly sales ever in March 2024.

Mercedes-Benz is committed to the Indian market, having a long history and well-established footprint from various aspects of production, purchasing and extensive R&D activities.” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.

60 percent of all Mercedes-Benz cars sold in India in Q1 2024 are from the brand’s ‘Core Segment’ which comprises of models like the C-Class and E-Class LWB sedans and the GLC and GLE SUVs. Entry-level cars such as the A-Class sedan and GLA SUV contributed 15% of the total sales. 

Top-end vehicles, or TEV, contributed 25 percent of Mercedes-Benz’s overall sales in India. Mercedes-Benz’s TEV’s include cars that cost above Rs. 1.50 crore like the GLS, S-Class, EQS, G-Class, and AMG and Mercedes-Maybach models. Mercedes-Benz India are aiming to strengthen their TEV range of cars by introducing the AMG S63 e-Performance and AMG C 63 e-Performance sedans soon.

Mercedes-Benz EV Sales Grow By 130% Y-o-Y

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz India’s EV portfolio clocked a significant y-o-y growth of 130% in Q1 2024. The brand currently offers 3 EVs in India, including the EQE SUV, EQB SUV and the EQS sedan. Mercedes-Benz India are set to strengthen their presence in the Indian EV segment by adding 3 new EVs this year. Mercedes-Benz India are likely to launch the EQS SUV in India soon in both standard and Maybach trims soon, while the other 2 EVs for India could be the entry-level EQA SUV and the mid-range EQE sedan.
