November 2022 Cars Sales Analysis - C-Segment SUV YoY, MoM Change, 6-Month Trend | V3Cars
In this November 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all C-segment SUVs in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all C-segment SUVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

C-Segment SUV November 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Among the high-volume cars from the category, the Creta was the top-selling SUV in the segment in November. Over 13,000 units of the Creta were produced in November 2022 compared to 10,300 units in November 2021, which is a growth of 29.33%.
- The Nissan Kicks was the top losing car in the category with a YoY decline of 97%, losing all the traction and growth it garnered during the festive season.
- Next in line in the top losers list are the Jeep Compass with 48% drop and Volkswagen Taigun with 30.5% sales decline in November YoY comparison analysis.
- A YoY decline of 71% for the Nissan Kicks in September YoY comparison analysis suggested it could be discontinued, but in October it showed a 5% growth in dispatches, which was all lost again in November.
- Low volume cars in the category saw incredible YoY growth. The MG ZS EV saw a growth of 407% in the YoY comparison. 95 units of the Kona Electric were dispatched in November 2022 compared to zero units in November 2021.
- The Maruti S-Cross, Volkswagen T-Roc and Renault Duster were discontinued over the past 12 months.

C-Segment SUV November 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change
- Almost all C-segment SUVs saw drop in sales post the festive season in November.
- The only MoM gainers in November were Hyundai Creta with 12.31% growth and Citroen C5 Aircross with 40% growth.
- The Toyota Hyryder saw a 191% increase in dispatch numbers in the October MoM comparison, and suffered a minor loss of 7% in November MoM comparison. It was the top-gainer amongst the mass-market cars in the C-segment SUV category in October.
- Besides the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the Nissan Kicks was the top-selling car at second spot, with a surprising MoM growth of 124%, but it too suffered a blow of almost 99% decline in dispatches in November MoM comparison. The Kicks was the top-losing car in the category in the November MoM analysis.
- After a 90% MoM growth in October, MG ZS EV saw a decline of 2.3% in November.
- The other top losers in November MoM comparison were the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara (-25%) and Jeep Compass (-25%).
- The sales numbers of the lowest ranking 6 cars combined are nearly half of the decline in production of Grand Vitara.
