Toyota have revealed the new Yaris Cross for the Indonesian market and it doesn’t share anything in common with the Euro-spec Yaris Cross. Read on to know more details about the new Creta-rivaling Toyota Yaris Cross hybrid SUV.

Despite carrying the same name, the Indonesia-spec Yaris Cross looks different to the Yaris Cross sold in Europe. Up front, the Indonesia-spec Yaris Cross gets an upright stance featuring a large chrome grille and slim LED headlights. The fog lights sit a lot higher than conventional cars, lending it a more robust appeal. The lower bumper gets a faux skid plate and large air ducts to feed cool air to the radiator. Around the side, the Yaris Cross gets prominent wheel arch cladding and at the rear, it offers sleek LED tail lights.

On the inside, the Yaris Cross offers a contemporary dashboard featuring a soft-touch finish around the crash pad. It gets a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include advanced driver assistance systems, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof and automatic climate control.

Toyota offer the Yaris Cross with a choice of 2 powertrain options — 1.5L normal petrol and 1.5L strong hybrid petrol. The 1.5L normal petrol engine produces 106PS of power and 138Nm of torque. The normal petrol engine gets 2 transmission options — a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT. The 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine produces 109PS of power and comes with a CVT transmission.

The Yaris Cross rivals the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the Indonesian market.
However, since Toyota already sell Urban Cruiser Hyryder C-segment SUV in India, the Yaris Cross is not likely to launch in India.
