1. Renault Triber / Nissan Gravite

The Triber and its Nissan counterpart, the 2026 Gravite, continue to dominate this list. With the third row removed, these MPVs offer a massive 625-litre boot space, making them the most practical options under Rs. 10 lakh. With all seats up, the boot shrinks significantly, but the flexibility they offer makes them ideal for buyers who occasionally need extra seating.

The 2026 Triber is priced from Rs. 5.76 lakh to Rs. 8.60 lakh, while the Gravite ranges from Rs. 5.65 lakh to Rs. 8.94 lakh (ex-showroom). Both MPVs are offered with a 1L normal petrol engine producing 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).

2. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga / Toyota Rumion

Next up are the Ertiga and Rumion, which offer 550 litres of boot space with the 3rd row folded. These MPVs strike a balance between passenger comfort and luggage capacity, making them suitable for long family trips. However, under the Rs. 10 lakh car, only select lower variants qualify.
The Ertiga is currently priced from Rs. 8.80 lakh to Rs. 12.94 lakh, while the Rumion ranges from Rs. 9.56 lakh to Rs. 13.86 lakh (ex-showroom),. Both MPVs are powered by a 1.5L normal petrol engine that produces 103PS of power and 138Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter (TC) automatic. Both MPVs are also available with a 1.5L CNG bi-fuel engine producing 88PS of power and 121Nm of torque. The CNG engine is only available with the 5-speed manual transmission.

3. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

Among affordable sedans, the Ciaz remains the undisputed leader with a large 510-litre boot. Its wide and deep luggage are makes it ideal for carrying large suitcases, making it a great option for airport runs and long road trips.

The Ciaz is powered by a 1.5L normal petrol engine producing 105PS of power and 138Nm of torque. It is offered with a choice of 5-speed manual or an old-school 4-speed TC automatic. The 2026 Ciaz is priced from Rs. 9.09 lakh to Rs. 11.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

4. Citroen Basalt

The Basalt stands out not only because of its coupe SUV bodystyle but also its large 470-litre boot. It is currently one of the most spacious offering in the B2-SUV segment. It’s coupe SUV styling doesn’t compromise practicality as much as you would expect.

The 2026 Basalt is offered with 2 engine and 2 transmission options. The base and mid variants of the Basalt are offered with a 1.2L normal petrol engine mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission. This engine produces 82PS of power and 115Nm of torque. The mid and the top variants are available with a 1.2L turbo petrol engine, which produces 110PS of power and 190Nm of torque. This engine can be had with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed TC automatic. However, only the Basalt normal petrol variants fall under the Rs. 10 lakh price cap.

5. Citroen Aircross 

The 2026 Aircorss offers a generous 444-litre boot space in its 2-row configuration. Its long wheelbase helps maximise luggage capacity, making it a practical family SUV. The Aircross is offered with the same engine and transmission options as the Basalt above. However, only the Aircross normal petrol-manual variants fall under the Rs. 10 lakh price cap.

6. Tata Tigor

The Tata Tigor offers a generous 419-litre boot space. Additionally, its hydraulic struts improve usability, making it easier to access luggage are without obstruction or the fear of the tailgate dropping down on your arms.

The Tigor is available with multiple powertrain options including a 1.2L normal petrol engine, 1.2L CNG and even an all-electric version. However, the Tigor EV costs well above the Rs. 10 lakh price cap. It’s worth noting that the Tigor is one of the few sedans that offer a CNG-automatic option. The 2026 Tigor is priced between Rs. 5.49 lakh to Rs. 8.74 lakh (ex-showroom).

7. Honda Amaze

The 3rd generation Amaze is another sub-4 metre sedan that offers usable boot space. With a 416-litre boot, the Amaze offers a well-shaped luggage area, making it easy to stack large bags efficiently.

Priced between Rs. 7.48 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2026 Amaze is offered with a 1.2L normal petrol engine that produces 90PS of power and 110Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission.

8. Renault Kiger

The 2026 Kiger offers 405 litres of boot space, making it one of the more practical sub-4 metre SUVs in this price range. The Kiger is offered with 2 engine options – a 1L normal petrol and a 1L turbo petrol. The 1L normal petrol engine produces 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque and is offered with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The 1L turbo petrol engine produces significantly more power and torque, at 100PS and 160Nm, respectively. It is offered with a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.

Prices for the 2026 Kiger range from Rs. 5.76 lakh to Rs. 10.34 lakh (ex-showroom).

9. Hyundai Aura

Priced from Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 8.54 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2026 Aura is offered with 2 engine and 2 transmission options. The 1.2L normal petrol produces 83PS of power and 114Nm of torque. It is offered with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. the 1.2L CNG engine offers an output of 69PS and 95Nm. It is only offered with the 5-speed manual.

10. Kia Sonet

Rounding off this list is the Kia Sonet with a 392-litre boot space. While not the largest in the segment, it still offers a practical and usable luggage are for your everyday needs. However, not all Sonet variants are priced under the Rs. 10 lakh price cap.

The 2026 Sonet is offered with 3 engine options – a 1L turbo petrol, a 1.2L normal petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine. The 1L turbo petrol engine produces 120PS of power and 172Nm of torque. It is offered with the option of a 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).
