The 2022 Hyundai Creta facelift, which made its debut in Indonesia, is now on sale in South Africa. The Creta facelift for the South African market gets a 1.5L normal petrol engine only. The new Creta facelift is likely to make its India debut at the 2023 Auto Expo.

The Creta facelift gets an updated front profile, which is very similar to what we’ve seen in the 2022 Tucson. The front grille gets LED DRLs, while the lower part of the bumper gets vertically-stacked, twin-pot LED headlights. At the side, the Creta facelift remains unchanged, with its silver-finished blade over the window line. We expect Hyundai India to offer the Creta facelift with a new set of alloy wheels. The Creta facelift also features redesigned LED tail lamps, while the tailgate gets a more angular design.

On the inside, the 2022 Hyundai Creta facelift doesn’t bring any substantial changes to the table. It continues to offer a dual-layar dashboard with a touchscreen infotainment system in the middle. It is worth noting that in other markets, the Creta facelift gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system whereas in India, Hyundai will offer a bigger 10.25-inch infotainment system in the top-spec variants. One big change, however, will be the inclusion of ADAS.

The India-bound Creta facelift will come with the same set of petrol and diesel engines, albeit with Road Driving Emission (RDE) compliance. The lower variants of the Creta will come with a 115PS 1.5L normal petrol and a 115PS 1.5L turbo diesel engine options. Both engine options will come with manual and automatic transmission options. Enthusiasts will also get the option of a 1.4L turbo petrol engine, pumping out 140PS of power and 242Nm of torque. It will only come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Hyundai are likely to launch the 2022 Creta facelift at the 2023 Auto Expo, which is slated to take place in January next year. The new Creta facelift will continue to rival other C-Segment SUVs like the Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq. The Creta will also face fierce competition from the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara hybrid SUVs.
