2022 Mahindra Scorpio Spied - Things You Need To Know | V3Cars

Mahindra & Mahindra have been testing the Scorpio for well over two years now. We expect Mahindra to unveil the 2022 Scorpio later this year in the Indian market. It will share its engine options with the Thar along with a capable 4-wheel-drive system. Mahindra could also continue offering the current Scorpio after the launch of the 2022 model.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio

2022 Mahindra Scorpio has started taking shape under the camouflage, with production-spec headlights and taillights. At the front, we expect the new Scorpio to offer a large grille with vertical slats, flanked by LED headlights. The 2022 Scorpio could grow in size, owing to the new-gen body-on-frame chassis shared with the Thar. Based on the spy shots, the new Scorpio will offer large LED taillights, reminiscent of the Volvo XC90.

On the inside, we expect the 2022 Scorpio to offer a luxury experience. Based on the spy shots, we can say that the new Scorpio will offer vertical AC vents and a flush-fitting touchscreen. 4-wheel-drive models of the 2022 Scorpio will also feature a rotary drive mode selector for terrain modes.

On the powertrain front, the 2022 Scorpio will get a 2.2L turbo diesel and a 2.0L turbo petrol engine. Both engines will come mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Mahindra could bump up the power and torque figures of both the engines than that of the Mahindra Thar. We expect Mahindra to offer a 4-wheel-drive option with both petrol and diesel engine options.

Scorpio

Mahindra are also testing the current-gen Scorpio alongside the 2022 model with some camouflage. This could mean that the Indian SUV maker is planning to retain the current model and sell it alongside the 2022 model. However, Mahindra are yet to confirm this and we would probably have to wait till the official launch of the 2022 Scorpio for more updates.
