VW Introduces GT Plus Sport, GT Line Under Taigun Sport Lineup

The new Taigun GT Plus Sport and GT Line are clubbed under the Taigun Sport lineup. Compared to other Taigun GT variants, the new Taigun GT Plus Sport gets smoked LED tail lamps, red ‘GT’ branding on the grille, fender and tailgate, dark chrome door handles, and red brake calipers. VW have replaced the chrome trim seen in other Taigun GT variants with a glossy black front grille, front diffuser, ORVM covers, and fender badges. The Taigun GT Plus Sport also gets a grey roof and 17-inch gloss black alloy wheels.

The Taigun GT Line gets the same dark treatment as the GT Plus Sport but misses out on the red GT badge on the grille. It instead gets a ‘GT Line’ badge on the doors. It also does not feature the red brake calipers the GT Plus Sport gets.

On the inside, the Taigun GT Plus Sport gets an all-black cabin complete with black leatherette upholstery, black headliner, and glossy black inserts on the dashboard. Red stitching is found on the seats, door pads and steering wheel.

The Taigun GT Plus Sport is offered with the 1.5L turbo petrol engine with 2 transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Taigun GT Line, on the other hand, is offered with the smaller 1.0L turbo petrol engine. It gets 2 transmission options as well – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Collection – March 2024 Prices

Volkswagen have added 2 new variants to the Taigun GT Edge Collection lineup – 1.5L GT Edge Sport manual and 1.5L GT Edge Sport automatic. 

The 2024 Taigun GT Edge Collection is now available in 6 variants with 2 colour options – Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey Matte. Volkswagen India are yet to reveal the prices of the new 1.5L GT Edge Sport manual and automatic variants.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition – March 2024 Prices

The 2024 VW Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is only available with the 1.5L turbo petrol engine mated to the 6-speed manual transmission.

Volkswagen Taigun Chrome 2024 Variants And Prices

The standard variants of the Taigun are now clubbed under the Taigun Chrome lineup. The Taigun Chrome with the 1.0L turbo petrol is available in 3 variants and 2 transmission options. The Taigun Chrome with the 1.5L turbo petrol is available in 2 variants and 2 transmission options.

2024 VW Taigun Powertrain Specifications

Like before, the 2024 Taigun lineup is available with 2 engine options – a 1.0L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo petrol. The 1.0L turbo petrol engine is offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic while the 1.5L turbo petrol is offered with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). The Volkswagen Taigun rivals the likes of the Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, and Honda Elevate, among other C-segment SUVs.

The Taigun GT Plus Sport rivals the recently-launched Hyundai Creta N-Line, Kia Seltos X-Line, and Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo.
