Hyundai Creta Turbo And iMT Variants No Longer On Sale | V3Cars

Hyundai Creta 1.4L Turbo Petrol Discontinued

Hyundai have removed the 1.4L turbo petrol engine from their website. While the prices of the turbo petrol variants are listed on the website, the carmaker is likely to remove these variants soon. Hyundai offered the 1.4L turbo petrol engine with the dual-clutch automatic transmission in S+ and SX(O) variants. The 1.4L turbo petrol engine offered 140PS of power at 6000rpm and 242Nm of torque at 1500rpm. Since this engine doesn’t power any other Hyundai offering, it was not viable for the carmaker to update this engine for the upcoming BS6 phase 2 emission norms.

Hyundai Creta 1.5L iMT Variants Discontinued

Hyundai offered the Creta normal petrol with an iMT transmission, which we like to call as auto-clutch manual transmission. It offers a clutchless operation without robbing away the feel of manually shifting gears. Additionally, it also costs even less to manufacture than automated manual transmissions (AMT). Hyundai offered the Creta petrol iMT in the S+ variant but with the update, the carmaker has discontinued this option. It is worth mentioning that Creta’s cousin — the Kia Seltos — continues to offer the iMT transmission option with normal petrol as well as turbo diesel engine options.

Updated Hyundai Creta Details

Hyundai have updated the 2023 Creta with road driving emission (RDE) compliant and E20 fuel-ready engines. Despite receiving updates for RDE compliance, both the petrol and diesel engine options produce the same amount of power and torque as earlier. Furthermore, Hyundai have also added 6 airbags, electronic stability control and height adjustable front seatbelts as standard across all the variants of the MY2023 Creta.
