The Kia EV6 all-electric crossover is all set to receive a facelift soon. The EV6 made its global debut in 2021 and was launched in India in May 2022. Kia had allotted 100 units of the EV6 for the Indian market but had to import more units after it bagged 355 bookings by November 2022. Meanwhile, Kia launched the EV9 all-electric SUV in global markets and just last month, the carmaker revealed the EV3, EV4 and EV5 with a similar design language as the flagship EV9 SUV.

Recent spy shots from an underground car park in South Korea show the EV6 facelift wrapped in heavy camouflage. We believe Kia are working on updating the front and rear profiles of the EV6 to make it fall in line with the design of the EV3, EV4, EV5 and the EV9.
The front end of the EV6 facelift is expected to get a flatter design with repositioned LED headlamps and a new LED DRL that spans across the width of the bonnet. Expect minor revisions to the front and rear bumpers as well. The side profile of the EV6 facelift could remain largely the same as the model sold in India currently.

The Kia EV6 facelift is expected to go on sale in its home market in 2024 and could make its way to India by late 2024 or early 2025. When launched, the EV6 facelift will continue to rival the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge. Currently, the Kia EV6 is priced between Rs. 60.95 lakh and Rs. 65.95 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. If Kia manage to locally assemble the EV6 in India, we believe the EV6’s price could come closer to that of the Ioniq 5 (Rs. 44.95 lakh) from sister brand Hyundai.
The Kia EV6 sits on Hyundai-Kia’s e-GMP global modular platform, which also underpins the Hyundai Ioniq 5. The India-spec Kia EV6 comes with a 77.4kWh battery pack and 2 drivetrain options — rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive. The Kia EV6 offers an ARAI-certified range of 708km on a single charge. The rear-wheel-drive EV6 produces 229PS of power and 350Nm of torque while the all-wheel-drive version puts out 325PS of power and 605Nm of torque.
