Toyota Start Promoting Hybrid Tech Ahead Of Hybrid SUV Launch | V3Cars

Toyota India have released a new teaser on their YouTube channel to promote their strong hybrid powertrain. Toyota India are set to launch a compact SUV later this year to take on the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The upcoming Toyota SUV will feature the strong hybrid tech showcased in the latest promotional videos. The new teaser also promotes a self-charging hybrid vehicle that could arrive ahead of Toyota’s compact hybrid SUV.

Toyota Hybrid Tech

We recently saw a few spy shots of the Toyota and Maruti hybrid compact SUVs undergoing tests. The Toyota hybrid SUV will be a part of Toyota’s global hybrid portfolio. It will sport features like split LED headlights, a large grille, LED tail lights and alloy wheels.

Thanks to the self-charging hybrid setup, we expect Toyota’s upcoming SUV to offer segment-best fuel efficiency. We have learnt that Toyota won’t have any diesel engine on offer. The exact powertrain options and their specifications will be revealed closer to the launch date.

Toyota Hybrid SUV

It is worth noting that Maruti Suzuki will offer the rebadged version of Toyota’s hybrid SUV. Currently, Suzuki do not offer any rebadged products in the Indian market. However, in European markets, Suzuki sell rebadged versions of the Toyota RAV4 and Corolla estate.

Toyota India are expected to reveal the upcoming hybrid SUV later this year. The upcoming hybrid SUV will go up against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq. Owing to the hybrid powertrain, we expect Toyota’s compact SUV to be priced higher than it’s rivals.
