Let’s first look at the prices of both the cars for the petrol-manual powertrain.
With the petrol-manual powertrain, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio’s prices start at Rs. 5.37 lakh and top out at Rs. 6.6 lakh (ex-showroom). The Renault Kwid’s petrol-manual range costs between Rs. 4.70 lakh and Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Celerio petrol-automatic is available in 3 variants with prices ranging from Rs. 6.33 lakh to Rs. 7.09 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kwid’s 4 petrol-automatic variants cost between Rs. 5.44 lakh and Rs. 6.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
The 1 CNG-manual variant of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio costs Rs. 6.73 lakh (ex-showroom). The Renault Kwid is not available with a CNG-manual powertrain.
The Celerio and the Kwid are not available with CNG-automatic powertrains.

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio and the Renault Kwid are both hatchbacks. The Celerio is 3695mm long, 1655mm wide and 1555mm tall. The Celerio’s wheelbase is 2435mm long. The Kwid measures 3731mm long, 1579mm wide and 1490mm tall and has a wheelbase measuring 2422mm. In terms of dimensions, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio is considerably larger than the Renault Kwid. So, the Celerio will offer a stronger road presence than the Kwid.
The Celerio has a ground clearance of 170mm while the Kwid has a ground clearance of 184mm. The 313-litre boot space of the Celerio is 34 litres larger than that of the Kwid.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio only gets a 1.0L normal petrol engine, which is available with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. The Celerio’s 1.0L normal petrol engine makes 66PS of power at 5500rpm and 89Nm of torque at 3500rpm.
The Renault Kwid is available with a single petrol engine option - a 1.0L normal petrol engine. The 1.0L normal petrol engine is available with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission.
The 1.0L normal petrol engine in the Renault Kwid pushes out 68PS of power at 5500rpm and 91Nm of torque at 4250rpm.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is also available with a 1.0L normal CNG engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. This engine makes 57PS of power at 5300rpm and 82Nm of torque at 3400rpm.
