2023 BMW X1 Launched — Prices Start From Rs. 45.90 Lakh | V3Cars

BMW India recently launched the 3rd-gen X1 in India with a starting introductory price of Rs. 45.90 lakh ex-showroom. The new X1 comes with a 1.5L turbo petrol engine and a 2.0L turbo diesel engine. It is bigger than its predecessor and also comes in an all-electric avatar globally, which could launch in India at a later stage.

The 2023 X1 looks sharper and more angular over the 2nd-gen X1. At the front, it gets a larger single piece kidney grille with vertical chrome slats. The grille is flanked by sweptback LED headlights with inverted L-shaped LED DRLs. The M Sport variant further adds sportier bumpers and an exclusive blue exterior colour. The new X1 offers 2 designs for the 18-inch alloy wheels — standard and M Sport. Around the back, the new X1 looks similar to the 1st-gen X1 with sharp and protruding split LED tail lights.

The new X1 takes a big leap in terms of interior design over the outgoing model. A curved glass sits atop the dashboard that incorporates 2 screens — a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The new system runs BMW’s OS 8.0 and supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

2023 BMW X1 Powertrain Details

The new BMW X1 comes with 2 engine options — a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 2.0L turbo diesel. The 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine produces 136PS of power between 4400rpm and 6500rpm and 230Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 4000rpm. The 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine offers 150PS of power between 3750rpm and 4000rpm and 360Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 2500rpm. The 1.5L petrol and 2.0L diesel engines offer a certified fuel efficiency of 16.35kmpl and 20.37kmpl, respectively. Both engine options come mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that powers the front wheels.

BMW offer the X1 in 2 variants — sDrive 18i(petrol) xLine at Rs. 45.90 lakh and sDrive 18d(diesel) M Sport at Rs. 47.90 lakh ex-showroom. It is worth mentioning that the aforementioned prices are introductory and only valid for a limited number of units. The new X1 continues to rival other premium compact SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40.
