The most notable feature of the MG EHS is its plug-in hybrid powertrain. It gets a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 16.6kWh battery pack.

MG EHS Expected Specs

MG EHS comes with a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine along with a plug-in-hybrid setup. The engine alone produces 161PS of power and 250Nm of torque between 1700rpm and 4300rpm. The electric motor produces 122PS of power and 230Nm of torque and it draws power from a 16.6kWh battery pack. The power is transmitted to the wheels via a 10-speed electric drive transmission.

MG EHS Rivals

MG EHS is a D1-segment SUV and it rivals the likes of the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, Skoda Karoq and Volkswagen Tiguan in various global markets. Currently in India, no SUV in the segment offers a plug-in-hybrid powertrain option.

MG EHS Launch Timeline

MG are not likely to launch the EHS in India anytime soon. MG already offer the ZS EV fully-electric SUV and it will soon be joined by the launch of the Air EV electric hatchback. Instead, the EHS will showcase MG’s plug-in hybrid powertrain to the Indian masses.

MG EHS Expected Price

As we stated earlier, MG are unlikely to launch the EHS in India anytime soon. MG Motor India could consider new plug-in-hybrid models in the future if the EHS receives a positive response from visitors at the auto show.
