
Volvo has unveiled the 2021 XC60 facelift. It gets slightly updated aesthetics while the most significant change comes inside the cabin.

Land Rover launched the new Defender in India in October 2020. At the launch, the SUV was available with a single 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine only. Now, the carmaker has introduced two new engine options on the Defender lineup: D300 and P400.

Volvo recently confirmed that it will launch its first EV, the XC40 Recharge, in India in October 2021. In the same event, the carmaker also revealed that the recently unveiled C40 will be the second EV to go on sale in India and it will be launched in 2022.

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in its latest gazette notification has made dual front airbags compulsory on all cars. While all new vehicles launched after 1 April 2021 are required to be equipped with dual front airbags as standard, automakers have till 1 August 2021 to equip the existing models with standard dual front airbags. The government had already made driver side airbag compulsory back in July 2019.

BMW is all set to launch the sportiest version of the 3 Series sedan, the M340i, in India on 10 March 2021. Mini has launched the 2021 Countryman facelift in India. It is available in two variants: Cooper S and Cooper S JCW Inspired, priced at Rs 39.50 lakh and Rs 43.40 lakh (ex-showroom India), respectively. With the introduction of the updated SUV, Mini has discontinued the diesel version of the Countryman SUV.

Tata has launched a new more affordable XTA variant of the Tiago automatic. It is priced at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), Rs 50,000 more than its manual counterpart. Until now, the Tiago automatic was available only in three variants: XZA, XZA+ and XZA+ DT with XTA being the fourth variant. The base-spec XE variant remains the only variant in the lineup to not come with an option of automatic transmission. With the introduction of the XTA variant, the prices of the Tiago automatic has come down by Rs 47,000.

Volkswagen discontinued the pre-facelift Tiguan in April 2020 due to the introduction of BS6 emission norms in the country. The carmaker is now gearing up to re-introduce the mid-size SUV in India soon and it is expected to launch later this month (March 2021).

As per a homologation document surfaced online, Hyundai is expected to launch a new base-spec S variant for the Venue Turbo iMT. Hyundai already offers the Venue Turbo in the S variant but it is currently available with a 6-speed manual transmission only. The Venue Turbo with iMT is currently being offered in four variants: SX, SX dual-tone, SX(O) and SX(O) dual-tone. If launched, the Venue Turbo iMT S will be the fifth variant in the lineup.

Citroen debuted the C5 Aircross in India on 1 February 2021. Now, the carmaker has started accepting the pre-launch bookings for the mid-size SUV for a token amount of Rs 50,000. In order to award the early movers, Citroen is also offering a complimentary 5 years/50,000 km maintenance package for those who will buy/book the car by April 6.

Ford has officially teased the EcoSport SE variant on its Instagram page. As the caption suggests, it will be a redesigned version of the top-spec S variant of the EcoSport SUV.

Volkswagen Virtus is the brand’s compact sedan that is already on sale globally and now it has been spotted testing in India. The car spotted testing was an LHD (left-hand drive) model suggesting it could be a test mule for component testing for the next-gen Vento which is expected to go on sale in India later this year.
